Storytellers are master manipulators transforming non-reality (grounded in reality) into vicarious experience.

About This Quote

A storyteller is one who can translate reality into a form that is easily understood by the listener. Anyone who has ever been told a story can tell you that a storyteller can make a story come alive with vivid images and characters. The telling of a good story is something that can not be done without a great deal of skill. By manipulating the listener into believing that what they are hearing is real, the storyteller makes the listener feel that he or she is actually experiencing the event.
